| 25 | 26 | | Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2021) Any person who is a veteran, 1 |

| 26 | 27 | | as defined in section 27-103 of the general statutes, shall be exempt from 2 |

| 27 | 28 | | payment of the lawful charge for state-owned or state-controlled bus 3 |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | public transportation service, provided such person presents to the fare 4 |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | inspector, as defined in section 13b-2 of the general statutes, or the 5 |

| 30 | 31 | | driver of such bus, as applicable, a motor vehicle operator's license or 6 |

| 31 | 32 | | identity card that indicates such person's status as a veteran, in 7 |

| 32 | 33 | | accordance with subsection (e) of section 14-36h of the general statutes. 8 |
