AN ACT EXEMPTING VET ERANS FROM PAYMENT O F THE FARES
FOR BUS PUBLIC TRANS PORTATION SERVICES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2021) Any person who is a veteran, 1
as defined in section 27-103 of the general statutes, shall be exempt from 2
payment of the lawful charge for state-owned or state-controlled bus 3
public transportation service, provided such person presents to the fare 4
inspector, as defined in section 13b-2 of the general statutes, or the 5
driver of such bus, as applicable, a motor vehicle operator's license or 6
identity card that indicates such person's status as a veteran, in 7
accordance with subsection (e) of section 14-36h of the general statutes. 8
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:
