26 | 25 | | Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) The chairpersons of the joint 1 |

28 | 27 | | matters relating to commerce shall convene a working group to examine 3 |
---|
29 | 28 | | and make recommendations regarding whether to adopt the Revised 4 |
---|
30 | 29 | | Uniform Law on Notarial Acts and whether remote notarial acts should 5 |
---|
31 | 30 | | be permitted in connection with real estate and trusts and estates 6 |
---|
32 | 31 | | transactions. 7 |

33 | 32 | | (b) Appointments to the working group shall include, but need not 8 |
---|
34 | 33 | | be limited to, the Secretary of the State, or the Secretary's designee, a 9 |
---|
35 | 34 | | representative from the General Assembly who is an attorney having 10 |
---|
36 | 35 | | experience in real estate transactions, representatives from the joint 11 |
---|
37 | 36 | | standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of 12 |
---|
38 | 37 | | matters relating to commerce, government administration and the 13 |
---|
39 | 38 | | judiciary, the Judicial Branch, the office of the Secretary of the State, the 14 Raised Bill No. 99 |

51 | 49 | | (c) The Secretary of the State, or the Secretary's designee, and the 20 |
---|
52 | 50 | | representative from the General Assembly who is an attorney having 21 |
---|
53 | 51 | | experience in real estate transactions shall be the chairpersons of the 22 |
---|
54 | 52 | | working group. The chairpersons of the working group shall schedule 23 |
---|
55 | 53 | | the first meeting of the working group, which shall be held not later than 24 |
---|
56 | 54 | | sixty days after the effective date of this section. The working group 25 |
---|
57 | 55 | | shall meet at least monthly thereafter, until it submits its report 26 |
---|
58 | 56 | | pursuant to subsection (d) of this section. 27 |
---|
59 | 57 | | (d) Not later than January 1, 2023, the working group shall submit a 28 |
---|
60 | 58 | | report on its findings and recommendations pursuant to subsection (a) 29 |
---|
61 | 59 | | of this section to the joint standing committees of the General Assembly 30 |
---|
62 | 60 | | having cognizance of matters relating to commerce, government 31 |
---|
63 | 61 | | administration and the judiciary, in accordance with the provisions of 32 |
---|
64 | 62 | | section 11-4a of the general statutes. The working group shall terminate 33 |
---|
65 | 63 | | on the date that it submits such report or on January 1, 2023, whichever 34 |
---|
66 | 64 | | is later. 35 |
---|
67 | 65 | | This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following |
