1420 AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF MUNICIPAL VETERANS
1521 SERVICES.
1622 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
1723 Assembly convened:

1925 Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) The Commissioner of Veterans 1
20-Affairs shall, within available appropriations, conduct a study of 2
21-veterans services provided by municipalities in this state. Such study 3
22-shall: (1) Identify municipalities with a local veterans' advisory 4
23-committee, municipalities with a municipal veterans' representative 5
24-and municipalities with neither; (2) examine the resources, including, 6
25-but not limited to, time, financial, technological and human, made 7
26-available by a municipality to each such committee or representative, as 8
27-applicable; and (3) compare across all municipalities the level and 9
28-quality of veterans services provided. 10
29-(b) Not later than January 1, 2023, the commissioner shall submit to 11
30-the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having 12
31-cognizance of matters relating to veterans' affairs, in accordance with 13
32-the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, (1) a report on the 14
33-findings of any study conducted pursuant to subsection (a) of this 15
34-section; and (2) recommendations for legislation to address deficiencies 16
35-or insufficiencies in the provision of veterans services by municipalities 17
36-in this state. 18 Substitute Bill No. 338
