23 | 23 | | Section 1. The Department of Environmental Protection 10 |

24 | 24 | | shall procure the best available, innovative technology for the 11 |

25 | 25 | | long-term cleanup of water bodies. The technology must: 12 |

26 | | - | (1) Remove harmful algal blooms, toxins, and nutrients 13 |
---|
27 | | - | from water bodies to address the growing threat to the public 14 |
---|
28 | | - | health. 15 |
---|
29 | | - | (2) Provide resources to reduce harmful algal blooms, 16 |
---|
30 | | - | including tools to redu ce, monitor, and provide predictive 17 |
---|
31 | | - | analysis. 18 |
---|
32 | | - | (3) Provide emergency response action. 19 |
---|
33 | | - | (4) Be scalable. 20 |
---|
34 | | - | (5) Be proven to reduce nitrates and toxins that foster 21 |
