2222 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9

2424 Section 1. Subsection (1) of s ection 743.064, Florida 11
2525 Statutes, is amended to read: 12
2626 743.064 Emergency medical care or treatment to minors 13
2727 without parental consent. — 14
2828 (1) The absence of parental consent notwithstanding, a 15
2929 physician licensed under chapter 458 or an osteopathic physici an 16
3030 licensed under chapter 459 may render emergency medical care or 17
3131 treatment to any minor who has been injured in an accident or 18
3232 who is suffering from an acute illness, disease, or condition 19
3333 if, within a reasonable degree of medical certainty, delay in 20
3434 initiation or provision of emergency medical care or treatment 21
3535 would endanger the health or physical well -being of the minor, 22
3636 and provided such emergency medical care or treatment is 23
3737 administered in a hospital licensed by the state under chapter 24
3838 395 or in a college health service . Emergency medical care or 25

5151 treatment may also be rendered in the prehospital setting by 26
5252 paramedics, emergency medical technicians, and other emergency 27
5353 medical services personnel, provided such care is rendered 28
5454 consistent with the provisions of chapter 401. These persons 29
5555 shall follow the general guidelines and notification provisions 30
5656 of this section. 31
5757 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2022. 32
