A bill to be entitled 1 
An act relating to s tate park campsite reservations; 2 
amending s. 258.014, F.S.; requiring the Division of 3 
Recreation and Parks of the Department of 4 
Environmental Protection to allow residents and 5 
nonresidents to make state park campsite reservations 6 
within specified timeframes; requiring Florida 7 
residents to provide information from their Florida 8 
driver license or identification card for certain 9 
reservations made in advance; providing an effective 10 
date. 11

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 13 
 14 
 Section 1.  Section 258.014, Florida Statutes, is amended 15 
to read: 16 
 258.014  Fees for Use of state parks; fees for use; 17 
campsite reservations .— 18 
 (1) FEES FOR USE.— 19 
 (a) The Division of Recreation and Parks shall have the 20 
power to charge reasonable fees, rentals , or charges for the use 21 
or operation of facilities and concessions in state parks ., and 22 
All such fees, rentals, and charges so collected must shall be 23 
deposited in the State Treasury to the credit of "State Park 24 
Trust Fund," which is hereby created, the continuing balance of 25

which fund is hereby appropriated to be expended by the said 26 
division for the administration, improvement , and maintenance of 27 
state parks and for the acquisition and development of lands 28 
hereafter acquired for state park purposes. The appropriation of 29 
the said fund shall be continuing, and may shall not revert to 30 
the General Revenue Fund at the end of any fiscal year or at any 31 
other time but shall, until expended, be continually available 32 
to the said division for the uses and purposes set forth. 33 
 (b)(2) Any moneys received in trust by the division by 34 
gift, devise, appropriation, or otherwise shall, subject to the 35 
terms of such trust, be deposited with the Chief Financial 36 
Officer in a fund to be known as the "State Park Trust Fund," 37 
and shall be subject to withdrawal upon application of the such 38 
division for expenditure or investment in accordance with the 39 
terms of the trust. Unless prohibited by the terms of the trust 40 
by which the moneys are derived, all of such moneys may be 41 
invested as provided by law. 42 
 (2)  RESERVATIONS.— 43 
 (a)  The Division of Recreation and Parks shall allow 44 
individuals to use the division's state parks r eservation 45 
website to make reservations for state park campsites, including 46 
RV sites, as follows: 47 
 1.  For Florida residents, reservations up to 12 months in 48 
advance; and 49 
 2.  For nonresidents, reservations up to 11 months in 50

advance. 51 
 (b)  A Florida resid ent who wishes to book a state park 52 
campsite more than 11 months in advance must provide his or her 53 
valid Florida driver license number or the identification number 54 
from a Florida identification card issued under s. 322.051 as 55 
proof of Florida residency on the division's state parks 56 
reservation website and must present the license or 57 
identification card to a park representative upon check -in at 58 
the campsite. 59 
 Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2023. 60
