2222 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9

2424 Section 1. Section 115.09, Florida Sta tutes, is amended to 11
2525 read: 12
2626 115.09 Leave to public officials for military service. —All 13
2727 officials of the state, the several counties of the state, and 14
2828 the municipalities or political subdivisions of the state, 15
2929 including district school and community colleg e officers, which 16
3030 officials are also servicemembers in the National Guard or a 17
3131 reserve component of the Armed Forces of the United States, 18
3232 shall be granted leave of absence from their respective offices 19
3333 and duties to perform active military service, the fi rst 30 days 20
3434 of any such leave of absence to be with full pay for active 21
3535 federal military service that is 90 consecutive days or more . 22
3636 Section 2. Section 115.14, Florida Statutes, is amended to 23

5151 counties of the state, and the municipalities or political 26
5252 subdivisions of the state shall be granted leave of absence 27
5353 under the terms of this law; upon such leave of absence being 28
5454 granted said employee shall enjoy the same rights and privileges 29
5555 as are hereby granted to officials under this law, insofar as 30
5656 may be, including, without limitation, receiving full pay for 31
5757 the first 30 days for active federal military service that is 90 32
5858 consecutive days or more . Notwithstanding the provisions of s. 33
5959 115.09, the employing authority may supplement the military pay 34
6060 of its officials and employees who are reservists called to 35
6161 active military service after the first 30 days in an amount 36
6262 necessary to bring their total salary, inclusive of their base 37
6363 military pay, to the level earned at the time they were called 38
6464 to active military duty. The employing authority shall continue 39
6565 to provide all health insurance and other existing benefits to 40
6666 such officials and employees as required by the Uniformed 41
6767 Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, chapter 43 of 42
6868 Title 38 U.S.C. 43
6969 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024. 44
