100100 (2) A county or municipality may contract with, or 63
101101 appropriate or contribute funds to, the operation of the offices 64

105105 municipal ordinances punishable by incarceration and not 68
106106 ancillary to a state charge shall contr act with counties and 69

108108 an hourly basis or reimburse the state for the full cost of 71
109109 assigning one or more full -time equivalent attorney positions to 72
110110 work on behalf of the county or municipality. Notwithstanding 73

125125 counsel shall contract for full reimbursement, or for 76
126126 reimbursement as the parties otherwise agree. In local ordinan ce 77
127127 violation cases, the county or municipality shall pay for due 78
128128 process services that are approved by the court, including 79
129129 deposition costs, deposition transcript costs, investigative 80
130130 costs, witness fees, expert witness costs, and interpreter 81
131131 costs. The person charged with the violation shall be assessed a 82
132132 fee for the services of a public defender or regional counsel 83
133133 and other costs and fees paid by the county or municipality, 84
134134 which assessed fee may be reduced to a lien, in all instances in 85
135135 which the person enters a plea of guilty or no contest or is 86
136136 found to be in violation or guilty of any count or lesser 87
137137 included offense of the charge or companion case charges, 88
138138 regardless of adjudication. The court shall determine the amount 89
139139 of the obligation. The county or municipality may recover 90
140140 assessed fees through collections court or as otherwise 91
141141 permitted by law, and any fees recovered pursuant to this 92
142142 section shall be forwarded to the applicable county or 93
143143 municipality as reimbursement. 94
144144 (c) Any payments received pursuant to this subsection 95
145145 shall be deposited into the Grants and Donations Trust Fund of 96
146146 within the applicable public defender or criminal conflict and 97
147147 civil regional counsel Justice Administrative Commission for 98
148148 appropriation by the Legislature. 99
