| 8 | | - | Audiology Practice Act is amended by changing Section 8.5 as |

| 14 | | - | speech-language pathology assistant if that person has applied |
|---|
| 15 | | - | in writing or electronically on forms prescribed by the |
|---|
| 16 | | - | Department, has paid the required fees, and meets both of the |
|---|
| 17 | | - | following criteria: |

| 18 | | - | (1) Is of good moral character. In determining moral |
|---|
| 19 | | - | character, the Department may take into consideration any |
|---|
| 20 | | - | felony conviction or plea of guilty or nolo contendere of |
|---|
| 21 | | - | the applicant, but such a conviction or plea shall not |
|---|
| 22 | | - | operate automatically as a complete bar to licensure. |

| 23 | | - | (2) Has received either (i) an associate degree from a |
|---|
| 24 | | - | speech-language pathology assistant program that has been |
|---|
| 25 | | - | approved by the Department and that meets the minimum |

| 40 | | - | hours of documented field work supervised by a licensed |
|---|
| 41 | | - | speech-language pathologist that is comparable to that |
|---|
| 42 | | - | completed in a speech-language pathology assistant program |
|---|
| 43 | | - | in this State. |
