The Election Code is amended by changing 5 Section 19A-21 as follows: 6 (10 ILCS 5/19A-21) 7 Sec. 19A-21. Use of local public buildings for early 8 voting polling places. Upon request by an election authority, 9 a unit of local government (as defined in Section 1 of Article 10 VII of the Illinois Constitution, which does not include 11 school districts) shall make the unit's public buildings 12 within the election authority's jurisdiction available as 13 permanent or temporary early voting polling places without 14 charge. Availability of a building shall include reasonably 15 necessary time before and after the period early voting is 16 conducted at that building.
