An Act relative to the charter of the town of Provincetown.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Section 5 of chapter 2 of the charter of the town of Provincetown, which is 
2on file in the office of the archivist of the Commonwealth as provided in section 12 of chapter 
343B of the General Laws, is hereby amended by inserting at the end of subsection (c) the 
4following sentence: “No person shall be a candidate or serve in elected office under this charter 
5if they have a currently-filed declaration of estate of homestead, as set forth in section 3 of 
6chapter 188 of the General Laws or similar provisions in other state laws, in any jurisdiction 
7other than Provincetown.” 
8 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
