AN ACT concerning 
 
Correctional Services – Drinking Driver Monitor Program – Position 
Requirement 
 
FOR the purpose of requiring the establishment of a new employee position classification 
in the Division of Parole and Probation in the Department of Public Safety and 
Correctional Services; requiring the salary of the new position to be not less than a 
certain salary in a certain pay plan; and generally relating to employees in the 
Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. 
 
 SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 
That, notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Division of Parole and Probation in 
the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services shall: 
 
 (1) establish a Monitor III employee position classification in the Drinking 
Driver Monitor Program and appoint an individual to fill the position; and 
 
 (2) provide the position with a salary of not less than Grade 13, Step 1 in 
the Standard Pay Plan established by the Secretary of Budget and Management under § 
8–101 of the State Personnel and Pensions Article. 
 
 SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect July 
1, 2022.
