41senateresearch,andthejointcommitteeonlegislativeresearchshallprovidesuchlegal,
42research,clerical,technical,andbilldraftingservicesasthetaskforcemayrequirein
43theperformanceofitsduties.
44 5.Membersofthetaskforceshallservewithoutcompensation,butthemembers
45andanystaffassignedtothetaskforceshallreceivereimbursementforactualand
46necessaryexpensesincurredinattendingmeetingsofthetaskforceorany
47subcommitteethereof.Alltaskforcemembersshallbesubjecttothesameconflict-
48of-interestprovisionsinchapter105thatareenforcedbytheMissouriethics
49commissioninthesamemannerthatelectedorappointedofficialsandemployeesare
50subjecttosuchprovisions.
51 6.Thetaskforceshallholditsfirstmeetingwithintwomonthsfromtheeffective
52dateofthissection.
53 7.Thedutiesofthetaskforceshallbeto:
54 (1)EvaluatethestatusofbroadbanddeploymentinMissouri;
55 (2)Evaluatethedeploymentprocess;and

57deploymentacrossthestatetounservedandunderservedresidents.
58 8.Thetaskforceshallreportasummaryofitsactivitiesandrecommendations
59tothegeneralassemblybeforeSeptember30,2023.
60 9.(1)ThetaskforceshallsuspenditsoperationsonSeptember30,2023.At
61suchtime,allmembersofthetaskforceshallberelievedoftheirpositionsonthetask
62force.
63 (2)ThetaskforceshallresumeitsoperationsonSeptember30,2024,withanew
64setofmemberstobeselectedaccordingtotheprovisionsofsubsection2ofthissection.
65Thenewchairandthenewvicechairofthetaskforceshallbedesignatedaccordingto
66theprovisionsofsubsection3ofthissection.
67 (3)Uponresumptionofitsoperations,thetaskforceshallcontinuetoreceive
68servicesaccordingtotheprovisionsofsubsection4ofthissectionandshallcontinueto
69besubjecttoallprovisionsofsubsection5ofthissection.
70 (4)Uponresumptionofitsoperations,thetaskforceshallreviewallsummaries
71andrecommendationspreviouslymadeundersubsection8ofthissectionandshall
72continuetocarryoutthedutiesdescribedinsubsection7ofthissection.
73 (5)Uponresumptionofitsoperations,thetaskforceshallreportanupdated
74summaryofitsactivitiesandanyrecommendationsforlegislationtothegeneral
75assemblybeforeSeptember30,2025.
76 (6)Afterprovidingareporttothegeneralassemblyasrequiredunder
77subdivision(5)ofthissubsection,thetaskforceshallcontinuetomeeteverytwoyears
78untilthissectionexpires.Thetaskforceshallprovideadditionalupdatedsummariesof
79itsactivitiesandadditionalrecommendationsforlegislationtothegeneralassembly,at
80suchtimesasthetaskforcedeemsnecessary,untilthetaskforceisterminated.
81 10.Undersection23.253oftheMissourisunsetact:
82 (1)Theprovisionsofthenewprogramauthorizedunderthissectionshall
83automaticallysunsettwelveyearsaftertheeffectivedateofthissectionunless
84reauthorizedbyanactofthegeneralassembly;
85 (2)Ifsuchprogramisreauthorized,theprogramauthorizedunderthissection
86shallautomaticallysunsettwelveyearsaftertheeffectivedateofthereauthorizationof
87thissection;and
88 (3)ThissectionshallterminateonSeptemberthirtiethofthecalendaryear
89immediatelyfollowingthecalendaryearinwhichtheprogramauthorizedunderthis
90sectionissunset.
