Relates to the time period during which absentee ballots shall be mailed or delivered after an application for such ballot is received by the board of elections.
Provides for automatic voter registration and pre-registration for persons applying for certain department of motor vehicles documentation, and for persons applying for or re-enrolling in Medicaid; allows individuals to decline such automatic registration and pre-registration.
Establishes no polling place shall be located on the premises of any public or private elementary or secondary school or a school for preschool children.
Permits a candidate who was depicted in materially deceptive media in a political communication to seek injunctive or other equitable relief prohibiting the publication of such materially deceptive media unless certain disclosures are provided; establishes an affirmative defense.
Provides that a qualified voter may receive an absentee ballot if such voter is unable to appear personally at the polling place of the election district in which such individual is a qualified voter because of a religious observance or practice.
Relates to voting rights and access for incarcerated individuals; authorizes polling places to be available at correctional facilities and local facilities; requires such facilities to provide persons detained or confined in such facilities access to register to vote or apply for an absentee ballot; requires voting information to be included in the inmate handbook.
Prohibits a court from bifurcating the primary elections for members of the state and county committees and assembly district leaders and associate district leaders and all other party positions to be elected and all nominations for public office required to be made at a primary election in such year, except presidential primaries.
Prohibits certain political contributions and loans by certain organizations; provides that loans not repaid by the date of the primary or election shall be considered a contribution.
Relates to notifying candidates of designation for certain county committees; requires the board of elections of the city of New York to provide notice to each candidate designated in a petition for election to a party position of a county committee located within the city of New York.
