Exempts persons holding the office of code enforcement officer of the city of Auburn from the requirement that such person be a resident of the political subdivision or municipal corporation of the state for which such person shall be chosen or within which such person's official functions are required to be exercised.
Establishes a voluntary registry of individuals with autism, Alzheimer's or dementia who may be at risk of wandering away from home; creates a standardized form available that may be submitted to local law enforcement agencies by family members and caregivers of such individuals that would include identifying information and may include a photograph of the registrant.
Permits the sale of state lands to municipal corporations either without consideration or for such consideration and upon terms approved by the commissioner of general services without a public auction.
Establishes the position of chief artificial intelligence officer and such person's functions, powers and duties; including, but not limited to, developing statewide artificial intelligence policies and governance, coordinating the activities of any and all state departments, boards, commissions, agencies and authorities performing any functions using artificial intelligence tools; makes related provisions.
Requires law enforcement officers to conduct a lethality assessment as part of the standardized domestic incident report form when responding to incidents of domestic violence.
Requires an "X" gender marker to be included in documents that request that a person identify their gender or sex utilized by state agencies, public authorities and municipalities.
Requires the inclusion of local and municipal animal shelters, a society for the prevention of cruelty to animals and veterinary services when establishing local comprehensive emergency management plans; requires that information to the public include the communication accommodation needs of persons with vision or hearing impairments and information on which temporary housing and other necessary facilities are designated as animal-friendly.
Authorizes the commissioner of general services, subject to the consent of the commissioner of corrections and community supervision, to transfer and convey certain state land to the Livingston County Water & Sewer Authority.
Establishes a public safety youth explorer program grants fund for the purposes of covering non-payroll expenses associated with hosting youth explorer programs which provide youths with an opportunity to experience working in a public safety field on a part-time temporary basis to get a sense on whether they would like to pursue it as a career.
Provides that release mechanism standards be developed by the state fire prevention and building code council based on internationally recognized standards.
