Prohibits the operation of establishments where animals and/or fowls are slaughtered or butchered for food; establishes a task force on public health risks and animal welfare concerns of slaughterhouses.
Relates to the registration status of voters; establishes additional requirements for the cancellation of a voter's registration; allows voters who have an inactive status to have their registration returned to active status and to have their vote counted for the election in which they vote.
Requires that each police officer and peace officer involved in the execution of a search warrant wear a functioning and unobstructed body camera that shall be active prior to and throughout the execution of the search and during any related action following the execution of the search warrant.
Requires the department of corrections and community supervision to create a family reunion program to provide eligible incarcerated individuals and their families the opportunity to meet for an extended period of time in a residential setting.
Establishes a claim for strict liability against the state for any injury caused by the administration of an immunization which is mandated by a state law; gives the court of claims the power and jurisdiction to hear such a claim.
Establishes a temporary blue ribbon commission to study bail and the bail industry; requires an interim report be issued one year after the effective date of this act including the commission's findings, conclusions and recommendations, and a final report of the same shall be issued two years after the effective date of this act including legislative proposals as it deems necessary to implement such recommendations.
Requires persons against whom an order of protection is issued to wear an electronic monitoring device; prohibits the tampering with such a device and violation of such prohibition constitutes a class E felony.
Relates to the distribution of educational materials regarding the misuse of and addiction to prescription drugs in counties with the most prevalent abuse of prescription opioids.
Limits who may bring a private right of action for identifying a victim of a sex offense; only brought by the victim where the information has not otherwise been publicly disclosed.
Provides for revocation of probation where a person is convicted of a felony or an offense in another jurisdiction which if committed in this state would constitute a felony, while the defendant is under probation supervision for a felony offense.
