Strengthens protections against discrimination, harassment, and bullying based on actual or perceived immigration status, and to improve implementation and oversight under the Dignity for All Students Act.
Enacts "Alexandra's law" to require school districts and charter schools to include in the curriculum or instruction teaching students how to recognize and react to rip currents, rip tides and undertows.
Requires that a contract between an insurer and a hospital shall include a provision that provides for medical records requested by the insurer or its utilization review agent to be made available electronically by the hospital; limits the use of disclosed records.
Requires that in cases concerning dwellings with two units or less, petitions that go to trial be resolved in six months or less upon issue being joined; provides that in cases concerning dwellings with three or four units, the court shall render a final judgment on a petition no later than twelve months from the date upon which the issue is enjoined.
Prohibits the purchase of ammunition if such purchaser failed a background check, is prohibited by federal law or is subject to a temporary or extreme risk protection order issued pursuant to article sixty-three-A of the civil practice law and rules.
Relates to the performance of medical services by physician assistants; provides that a physician assistant may practice without the supervision of a physician when such physician assistant is employed by a health system or hospital and is credentialed and given privileges by such health system or hospital, or when such physician assistant is licensed, has practiced for more than six thousand hours, is practicing in primary care, and is performing certain functions.
Provides that where a board of cooperative educational services has made a provisional appointment to a position and no civil service examination for such position has been conducted within nine months of such appointment, the provisional appointment shall not expire and shall be considered permanent.
