BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 18 O.S. 2021, Section 592, is amended to read as follows: Section 592. The authority of persons associated together to become incorporated as a ch aritable corporation for the purpose of providing either a volunteer or full -time fire department for an unincorporated area or place is hereby ratified and confirmed. Such a corporate fire department shall have authority to provide fire protective service and all other emergenc y services both to its members and to nonmembers, either within or without the unincorporated area wherein it is situated . Any charitable corporation formed in an unincorporated area for the purpose of providing eithe r a volunteer or a full-time fire department, suc h as is mentioned in Section 592 of this title, shall be considered an agency of the State of Oklahoma while actually performing the function of providing fire protective services and all other emergency ser vices either within or without the unincorporated area wherein it is si tuated, and while so engaged such corporation shall not be liable in tort for the acts of its members or its firemen. SECTION 3. This act shall become effective Novembe r 1, 2022. Passed the Senate the 14th day of March, 2022.
