37101 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
38102 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 11 -103.6o of Title 70, unless
39103 there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

41104 A. The State Department of Education, in consultation with
42105 experts in Holocaust education, shall develop and make available to
43106 public schools resources related to Holocaust education for grade -
44107 appropriate instruction of students in grades six through twelve.

46108 B. Beginning in the 2022-2023 school year, Holocaust education
47109 shall be taught to students in grades six through twelve in public

50110 schools in this state , as prescribed in the Oklahoma Academic
51111 Standards. Holocaust education may be integrated into one or more
52112 existing courses of study and shall be taught in a manner that:

54113 1. Generates an understanding of the causes, course , and
55114 effects of the Holocaust;

57115 2. Develops dialogue with students on the ramifications of
58116 bullying, bigotry, stereotyping, and discrimination; and

60117 3. Encourages tolerance of diversity and reverence for human
61118 dignity for all citizens in a pluralistic socie ty.

63119 C. The State Department of Education, in consultation with
64120 experts in Holocaust educat ion, shall develop and implement high
65121 quality professional learning opportunities for Holocaust education
66122 teachers.

68123 D. As used in this section, "Holocaust" means the systematic,
69124 state-sponsored persecution and attempted ann ihilation of Jews and
