| 328 | + | the apprenticeship, internship or mentorship program. |

| 329 | + | C. 1. The governing body of each school may obtain liability |
---|
| 330 | + | insurance coverage to protect a student who participates in an |
---|
| 331 | + | apprenticeship, internship or mentorship program authorized by this |
---|
| 332 | + | section. The coverage authorized by this subsection shall be |
---|
| 333 | + | obtained from a reliable insurer authorized to do business in this |
---|
| 334 | + | state and shall not exceed the amount that is deemed reasonably |
---|
| 335 | + | necessary in the opinion of the governing body of each school. |
---|
| 336 | + | 2. The governing body of a school may not directly or |
---|
| 337 | + | indirectly charge a student or the student's parent or legal |
---|
| 338 | + | guardian for the cost of providing insurance coverage pursuant to |
---|
| 339 | + | this subsection. |

| 372 | + | determine if they are eligible for academic credit toward meeting |
---|
| 373 | + | the graduation requirements set forth in Section 11 -103.6 of this |
---|
| 374 | + | title. |
---|
| 375 | + | SECTION 5. This act shall become effective July 1, 2021. |
---|
| 376 | + | SECTION 6. It being immediately necessary for t he preservation |
---|
| 377 | + | of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby |
---|
| 378 | + | declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and |
---|
| 379 | + | be in full force from and after its passage and approval. |
