BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O .S. 2021, Section 2305, is amended to read as foll ows: Section 2305. A. There is hereby re-created, to continue until July 1, 2024 July 1, 2027, in accordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma Sunset Law, an Advisory Committee on Pedorthics, which shall consist of five (5) voting members to be appoint ed by the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision to three -year terms ending December 31; provided, initial appointments shall be staggered such that two members are appointed for one (1) year, two members are appointed for two (2) years, and one member is appointed for three (3) years. One member shall be a licensed phy sician who is a member of the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervisi on. One member shall be a physician licensed to pr actice podiatric medicine by the Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners. One member shall be a member of the public who is a consumer of pedorthic services . Two members shall be pedorthists certified by th e Board for Certification in Pedorthics or pedorthi sts licensed by the State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision. C. Members shall serve until their successors are appointe d and qualified; provided, no member shall serve more than eight (8) consecutive years or two full terms, whichever is greater. D. The Committee shall annually elect a chair an d vice-chair vice chair from among the members. The chair or vice-chair vice chair and two other members shall constitute a quorum . Members shall be reimbursed from funds av ailable to the State Board of Medical Licensure and S upervision pursuant to the State Travel Reimbursement Act. E. 1. The Committee shall advise the Board on matters pertaining to pedorthics, including but not limited to: a. scope and standards of prac tice, b. licensure and registration requirements, exami nation requirements, exceptions thereto, renewal requirements, temporary licensure or registration, and endorsement or reciprocity requirements, Req. No. 2310 Page 3 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 c. methods and requirements for ensuring the continued competence of licensed and registered persons, d. grounds for probation, revocation or suspension of license or registration, reinstatement provisions, e. fees, and f. all other matters which may pertain to the practice of pedorthics. 2. The Committee shall review and make recommendations to the Board on all applications for licensure and registration. 3. The Committee shall assist and advise the Board in all hearings related to the enforcement of the Oklahoma Licensed Pedorthists Act. SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2024. SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval. 59-2-2310 RD 12/7/2023 9:26:01 AM
