66 relating to fees of office for directors of certain water

88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 49.060, Water Code, is amended by adding
1010 Subsection (f) to read as follows:
1111 (f) This subsection applies only to a water control and
1212 improvement district operating under Chapter 51, Water Code,
1313 located in more than one county, the most populous of which is
1414 100,000 or less and the least populous of which is 55,000 or more. A
1515 director is entitled to receive fees of office of not more than $200
1616 a day for each day the director actually spends performing the
1717 duties of a director. In this subsection, "performing the duties of
1818 a director" has the meaning provided in Subsection (a). A district,
1919 by resolution of the board, shall set a limit on the fees of office
2020 that a director may receive in a year. A district may not set the
2121 annual limit at an amount greater than $7,200.
2222 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
