8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 49.060, Water Code, is amended by adding | |
10 | 10 | Subsection (f) to read as follows: | |
11 | 11 | (f) This subsection applies only to a water control and | |
12 | 12 | improvement district operating under Chapter 51, Water Code, | |
13 | 13 | located in more than one county, the most populous of which is | |
14 | 14 | 100,000 or less and the least populous of which is 55,000 or more. A | |
15 | 15 | director is entitled to receive fees of office of not more than $200 | |
16 | 16 | a day for each day the director actually spends performing the | |
17 | 17 | duties of a director. In this subsection, "performing the duties of | |
18 | 18 | a director" has the meaning provided in Subsection (a). A district, | |
19 | 19 | by resolution of the board, shall set a limit on the fees of office | |
20 | 20 | that a director may receive in a year. A district may not set the | |
21 | 21 | annual limit at an amount greater than $7,200. | |
22 | 22 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
