| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Jeff Svoboda has been named the 2008 Citizen of the |

| 6 | 6 | | Year by the Hutto Chamber of Commerce; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, An employee of the U.S. Postal Service in Hutto, Mr. |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Svoboda has long distinguished himself through his volunteer |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | service to the community; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Svoboda is the chair of the Keep Hutto Beautiful |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Commission, working to promote recycling in the community; he |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | regularly talks to local students about environmental issues and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | helps schools set up recycling programs; moreover, he was |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | instrumental in helping the city implement curbside recycling, and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | he participates in the annual Trash-Off and Adopt-a-Highway |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | programs; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, This caring individual has also been a member of the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Hutto Lions Club for three years, and currently serves as its |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | secretary; he has played a leading role in the club's project to |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | donate old eyeglasses to help provide eye care to the less |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | fortunate, and to date, more than 400 pairs have been collected; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, An active parishioner of Hutto Lutheran Church, Mr. |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Svoboda helped to found the church's community food pantry; in |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | addition, he has coached basketball, soccer, track, and bowling for |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | the Hutto Special Olympics; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Jeff Svoboda's tireless dedication to helping |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | others makes him truly an exemplary member of his community and an |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | inspiring role model, and he is indeed worthy of this important and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | heartfelt recognition from his friends and neighbors; now, |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | therefore, be it |

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Jeff Svoboda for being named the |
