44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Crystal Cox has been named a 2009 Texas Youth of the
66 Year Finalist by the Texas Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs; and
77 WHEREAS, A senior at C. E. Ellison High School, Ms. Cox is a
88 member of Student Council, Texas FFA, National Honor Society, and
99 Family, Career and Community Leaders of America; she has been
1010 featured in Who's Who Among American High School Scholars and has
1111 served as president of the Keystone Club at her local Boys & Girls
1212 Club; and
1313 WHEREAS, Ms. Cox is also active in her community,
1414 participating in the Relay for Life and Adopt a Road programs, as
1515 well as serving on the Youth Area Council; she is a member of the
1616 Young Adult and Sanctuary Choirs at her church and is planning to
1717 study law at The University of Texas after graduating from high
1818 school; and
1919 WHEREAS, This noteworthy young Texan sets an outstanding
2020 example of accomplishment and contribution as a student and
2121 community leader, and it is appropriate to take this opportunity to
2222 honor her; now, therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2424 Legislature hereby congratulate Crystal Cox on being named a 2009
2525 Texas Youth of the Year Finalist by the Texas Alliance of Boys &
2626 Girls Clubs and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
2727 success; and, be it further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for Ms. Cox as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3030 House of Representatives.
