| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Crystal Cox has been named a 2009 Texas Youth of the |

| 6 | 6 | | Year Finalist by the Texas Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, A senior at C. E. Ellison High School, Ms. Cox is a |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | member of Student Council, Texas FFA, National Honor Society, and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Family, Career and Community Leaders of America; she has been |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | featured in Who's Who Among American High School Scholars and has |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | served as president of the Keystone Club at her local Boys & Girls |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Club; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Cox is also active in her community, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | participating in the Relay for Life and Adopt a Road programs, as |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | well as serving on the Youth Area Council; she is a member of the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Young Adult and Sanctuary Choirs at her church and is planning to |

| 17 | 17 | | study law at The University of Texas after graduating from high |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | school; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, This noteworthy young Texan sets an outstanding |

| 20 | 20 | | example of accomplishment and contribution as a student and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | community leader, and it is appropriate to take this opportunity to |

| 22 | 22 | | honor her; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Crystal Cox on being named a 2009 |
