H.R. No. 988 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Crystal Cox has been named a 2009 Texas Youth of the Year Finalist by the Texas Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs; and WHEREAS, A senior at C. E. Ellison High School, Ms. Cox is a member of Student Council, Texas FFA, National Honor Society, and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America; she has been featured in Who's Who Among American High School Scholars and has served as president of the Keystone Club at her local Boys & Girls Club; and WHEREAS, Ms. Cox is also active in her community, participating in the Relay for Life and Adopt a Road programs, as well as serving on the Youth Area Council; she is a member of the Young Adult and Sanctuary Choirs at her church and is planning to study law at The University of Texas after graduating from high school; and WHEREAS, This noteworthy young Texan sets an outstanding example of accomplishment and contribution as a student and community leader, and it is appropriate to take this opportunity to honor her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Crystal Cox on being named a 2009 Texas Youth of the Year Finalist by the Texas Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Cox as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
