As proposed, S.B. 2251 relates to a Tejano memorial monument on the Capitol grounds. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Chapter 443, Government Code, by adding Section 443.01525, as follows: Sec. 443.01525. TEJANO MEMORIAL MONUMENT. Requires the State Preservation Board to establish a Tejano memorial monument on the south lawn of the Capitol grounds that pays tribute to the contributions of Tejanos to the State of Texas. SECTION 2. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2009.
