S.C.R. No. 81
SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 726 has been adopted by the senate
and the house of representatives and is being prepared for
enrollment; and
WHEREAS, The bill contains technical errors that should be
corrected; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas, That
the enrolling clerk of the senate be instructed to correct Senate
Bill No. 726 by striking SECTION 3 (conference committee report
page 19, lines 2 through 6) and substituting the following:
SECTION 3. (a) Except as provided by Subsection (b) of
this section, this Act takes effect immediately if it receives a
vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
(b) Chapter 8855, Special District Local Laws Code, as added
by Section 1 of this Act, takes effect September 1, 2009.
