| 13 | 13 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 14 | 14 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | is amended by adding Section 225.082 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Sec. 225.082. VETERANS MEMORIAL PARKWAY. (a) State |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Highway 243 in Van Zandt County, between State Highway 198 and State |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Highway 64, is designated as the Veterans Memorial Parkway. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall: |

| 20 | 20 | | (1) design and construct memorial markers indicating |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the highway number, the designation as the Veterans Memorial |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Parkway, and any other appropriate information; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (2) erect a marker at each end of the parkway and at |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | appropriate intermediate sites along the parkway. |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
