                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            February 18, 2013      TO: Honorable Richard Pea Raymond, Chair, House Committee on Human Services      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB424 by Burkett (Relating to the sex offender status of a person who becomes a resident of certain group home facilities.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require the director of a group home to determine whether a person either requesting to live at a group home or assigned to live at a group home is registered as a sex offender under Chapter 62, Code of Criminal Procedure, using a website maintained by the Department of Public Safety, and to notify current residents of the group home if the person is found to be a sex offender. The Department of Aging and Disability Services does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact as a result of complying with the provisions of the bill. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
