The bill would require the director of a group home to determine whether a person eitherrequesting to live at a group home or assigned to live at a group home is registered as a sexoffender under Chapter 62, Code of Criminal Procedure, using a website maintained by theDepartment of Public Safety, and to notify current residents of the group home and their legal guardians, if applicable, if the person is found to be a sex offender. The Department of Aging and Disability Services does not anticipate any significant fiscal impactas a result of complying with the provisions of the bill. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
