The bill would require the director of a group home to determine whether a person eitherrequesting to live or assigned to live at a group home, or a person currently residing in a group home, is registered as sex offender under Chapter 62, Code of Criminal Procedure, using a website maintained by the Department of Public Safety. The bill would require that current residents of the group home and their legal guardians, if applicable, be notified if the person is found to be a sex offender. The Department of Aging and Disability Services does not anticipate any significant fiscal impactas a result of complying with the provisions of the bill. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
