| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Subsection (a), Article 19.42, Code of Criminal |

| 13 | 13 | | Procedure, is amended to read as follows: |

| 14 | 14 | | (a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), information |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | collected by the court, court personnel, or prosecuting attorney |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | during the grand jury selection process about a person who serves as |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | a grand juror, including the person's name, home address, home |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | telephone number, social security number, driver's license number, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and other personal information, is confidential and may not be |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | disclosed by the court, court personnel, or prosecuting attorney. |

| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
