99 AN ACT
1010 relating to the confidentiality of certain grand juror information.
1111 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1212 SECTION 1. Subsection (a), Article 19.42, Code of Criminal
1313 Procedure, is amended to read as follows:
1414 (a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), information
1515 collected by the court, court personnel, or prosecuting attorney
1616 during the grand jury selection process about a person who serves as
1717 a grand juror, including the person's name, home address, home
1818 telephone number, social security number, driver's license number,
1919 and other personal information, is confidential and may not be
2020 disclosed by the court, court personnel, or prosecuting attorney.
2121 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2222 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2323 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2424 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2525 Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
