2222 relating to projects that a defense adjustment management authority

2424 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
2525 SECTION 1. Section 375.303, Local Government Code, is
2626 amended to read as follows:
2727 Sec. 375.303. DEFINITION [DEFINITIONS]. In this
2828 subchapter, "authority"[:
2929 [(1) "Authority"] means a defense adjustment
3030 management authority created under this subchapter.
3131 [(2) "Eligible project" means a program authorized by
3232 Section 379A.051 and a project as defined by Section 501.002 and
3333 Sections 505.151-505.156. Notwithstanding this definition,
3434 seeking a charter for or operating an open-enrollment charter
3535 school authorized by Subchapter D, Chapter 12, Education Code,
3636 shall not be an eligible project.]
3737 SECTION 2. Subchapter O, Chapter 375, Local Government
3838 Code, is amended by adding Section 375.3035 to read as follows:
3939 Sec. 375.3035. ELIGIBLE PROJECTS. (a) In this subchapter,
4040 eligible projects include only a:
4141 (1) program authorized by Section 379A.051;
4242 (2) project as defined by Section 501.002 and
4343 Sections 505.151-505.156;
4444 (3) job training program for jobs in the health care,
4545 technology, or oil and gas industries; or
4646 (4) project that relates to a public purpose of the
4747 district for which the authority receives a grant through a
4848 competitive grant program administered by the federal government or
4949 this state, including a program administered by the Parks and
5050 Wildlife Department, the Texas Department of Transportation, or the
5151 Texas Workforce Commission.
5252 (b) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), in this subchapter,
5353 seeking a charter for or operating an open-enrollment charter
5454 school authorized by Subchapter D, Chapter 12, Education Code, is
5555 not an eligible project.
5656 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
