| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Section 312.016, Government Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |

| 14 | 14 | | (d) The state, acting under the exemption provisions of the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Uniform Time Act of 1966 (15 U.S.C. Section 260a(a)), is exempt from |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the provisions of that law that establish daylight saving time. The |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | exemption provided by this subsection applies to both the portion |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | of the state using central standard time as the official standard |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | time and the portion of the state using mountain standard time as |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the official standard time. |

| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect November 1, 2015, to |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | coincide with the end of daylight saving time for 2015. |
