10- A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
114 AN ACT
125 relating to job performance on behalf of a fire fighter or police
136 officer who is recovering from an off-duty injury.
147 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
158 SECTION 1. Section 143.073(d), Local Government Code, is
169 amended to read as follows:
1710 (d) If a fire fighter or police officer is temporarily
1811 disabled by an injury or illness that is not related to the person's
1912 line of duty, the person may:
2013 (1) use all sick leave, vacation time, and other
2114 accumulated time before the person is placed on temporary leave; or
2215 (2) have another fire fighter or police officer
2316 volunteer to do the person's work while the person is temporarily
2417 disabled by the injury or illness.
2518 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
