104 AN ACT
115 relating to eligibility to participate in health benefit programs
126 for certain state employees reemployed after military service.
137 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
148 SECTION 1. Section 1551.1055, Insurance Code, is amended by
159 amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (e) to read as
1610 follows:
1711 (a) Except as provided by Subsection (c), [or] (d), or (e),
1812 eligibility under Section 1551.101 begins not later than the 90th
1913 day after the date the employee performs services for a state agency
2014 or is qualified for and begins to hold elected or appointed office.
2115 (e) Eligibility under Section 1551.101 for an employee
2216 reemployed under Chapter 613, Government Code, begins on the first
2317 day of reemployment on which the employee performs services for a
2418 state agency.
2519 SECTION 2. Section 1601.1045, Insurance Code, is amended by
2620 amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (e) to read as
2721 follows:
2822 (a) Except as provided by Subsection (c), [or] (d), or (e),
2923 eligibility under Section 1601.101 begins on the first day of the
3024 calendar month that begins after the 90th day after the date the
3125 employee performs services for a system.
3226 (e) Eligibility under Section 1601.101 for an employee
3327 reemployed under Chapter 613, Government Code, begins on the first
3428 day of reemployment on which the employee performs services for a
3529 system.
3630 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
