| 13 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 14 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 1551.1055, Insurance Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 15 | 9 | | amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (e) to read as |
|---|
| 16 | 10 | | follows: |
|---|
| 17 | 11 | | (a) Except as provided by Subsection (c), [or] (d), or (e), |
|---|
| 18 | 12 | | eligibility under Section 1551.101 begins not later than the 90th |
|---|
| 19 | 13 | | day after the date the employee performs services for a state agency |
|---|
| 20 | 14 | | or is qualified for and begins to hold elected or appointed office. |

| 21 | 15 | | (e) Eligibility under Section 1551.101 for an employee |
|---|
| 22 | 16 | | reemployed under Chapter 613, Government Code, begins on the first |
|---|
| 23 | 17 | | day of reemployment on which the employee performs services for a |
|---|
| 24 | 18 | | state agency. |

| 25 | 19 | | SECTION 2. Section 1601.1045, Insurance Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 26 | 20 | | amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (e) to read as |
|---|
| 27 | 21 | | follows: |
