| 13 | 7 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 14 | 8 | SECTION 1. Section 96.707(k), Education Code, is amended to | |
| 15 | 9 | read as follows: | |
| 16 | 10 | (k) For each student enrolled in the academy, the academy is | |
| 17 | 11 | entitled to allotments from the Foundation School Program under | |
| 18 | 12 | Chapter 42 as if the academy were a school district without a tier | |
| 19 | 13 | one local share for purposes of Section 42.253 [, except that the | |
| 20 | 14 | academy has a local share applied that is equivalent to the local | |
| 21 | 15 | fund assignment of the Beaumont Independent School District]. | |
| 22 | 16 | SECTION 2. Section 96.707(k), Education Code, as amended by | |
| 23 | 17 | this Act, applies beginning with the 2015-2016 academic year. | |
