235 relating to the compatibility of state agency websites with certain
246 devices and Internet browsers.
257 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
268 SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 2054, Government Code, is
279 amended by adding Section 2054.134 to read as follows:
2810 Sec. 2054.134. DEVICE AND INTERNET BROWSER COMPATIBILITY.
2911 (a) In this section, "wireless communication device" means a
3012 device capable of using a commercial mobile service as defined by 47
3113 U.S.C. Section 332.
3214 (b) The department shall identify the three most commonly
3315 used Internet browsers and post a list containing those browsers in
3416 a conspicuous location on the department's Internet website. The
3517 department shall biennially review and, if necessary, update the
3618 list required under this subsection.
3719 (c) Each state agency that maintains a generally accessible
3820 Internet website or for which a generally accessible Internet
3921 website is maintained shall ensure that the website is compatible
4022 with:
4123 (1) a wireless communication device; and
4224 (2) the most recent version of each Internet browser
4325 listed by the department as required under Subsection (b).
4426 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
