| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Under the expert guidance of Superintendent Lance |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since taking the helm of the district in the summer |

| 9 | 10 | | of 2013, Lance Campbell has led the Lone Oak ISD to great |

| 10 | 11 | | distinction; in 2014, it became one of 46 school districts to be |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | named a Texas Honors Circle district by the comptroller's office |

| 12 | 13 | | for demonstrating responsible stewardship of taxpayer money; this |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | accolade is awarded to districts that achieve a five-star rating, |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | indicating that they rank in the top 20 percent of all districts |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | with regard to student academic growth and that they rank in the |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | lowest 20 percent in terms of core operating expenditures per |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | student; and |

| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The Lone Oak ISD has been further recognized by |

| 19 | 20 | | Children at Risk, which honored the district in 2014 for meeting the |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | needs of at-risk students; the group ranked Lone Oak 7th among North |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Texas school districts and 23rd among all districts in the state; |

| 22 | 23 | | Children at Risk uses graduation rates, advanced coursework, |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | college-readiness testing, and TAKS commendations to determine the |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | performance of schools across Texas; the district was also number |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | 10 on NerdWallet's 2015 list of the best-value school districts in |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | the Dallas-Fort Worth area, a survey that compares average housing |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | costs with school quality; and |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Prior to assuming the superintendency of the Lone |

| 29 | 30 | | Oak ISD, Mr. Campbell served as a principal in the Sam Rayburn and |

| 30 | 31 | | Whitewright ISDs and as the superintendent of Cumby ISD; he holds a |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | bachelor of science degree in history and physical education from |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | Texas A&M University--Commerce and a master of education degree |

| 33 | 34 | | from Tarleton State University; and |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | WHEREAS, Children are the Lone Star State's most precious |

| 35 | 36 | | resource, and Superintendent Lance Campbell and all those |

| 36 | 37 | | associated with the Lone Oak Independent School District are indeed |

| 37 | 38 | | deserving of recognition for their efforts to provide an |

| 38 | 39 | | exceptional education to area youth; now, therefore, be it |

| 39 | 40 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 40 | 41 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Lone Oak Independent School |
