 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Under the expert guidance of Superintendent Lance
 Campbell, the Lone Oak Independent School District has received
 several prestigious honors; and
 WHEREAS, Since taking the helm of the district in the summer
 of 2013, Lance Campbell has led the Lone Oak ISD to great
 distinction; in 2014, it became one of 46 school districts to be
 named a Texas Honors Circle district by the comptroller's office
 for demonstrating responsible stewardship of taxpayer money; this
 accolade is awarded to districts that achieve a five-star rating,
 indicating that they rank in the top 20 percent of all districts
 with regard to student academic growth and that they rank in the
 lowest 20 percent in terms of core operating expenditures per
 student; and
 WHEREAS, The Lone Oak ISD has been further recognized by
 Children at Risk, which honored the district in 2014 for meeting the
 needs of at-risk students; the group ranked Lone Oak 7th among North
 Texas school districts and 23rd among all districts in the state;
 Children at Risk uses graduation rates, advanced coursework,
 college-readiness testing, and TAKS commendations to determine the
 performance of schools across Texas; the district was also number
 10 on NerdWallet's 2015 list of the best-value school districts in
 the Dallas-Fort Worth area, a survey that compares average housing
 costs with school quality; and
 WHEREAS, Prior to assuming the superintendency of the Lone
 Oak ISD, Mr. Campbell served as a principal in the Sam Rayburn and
 Whitewright ISDs and as the superintendent of Cumby ISD; he holds a
 bachelor of science degree in history and physical education from
 Texas A&M University--Commerce and a master of education degree
 from Tarleton State University; and
 WHEREAS, Children are the Lone Star State's most precious
 resource, and Superintendent Lance Campbell and all those
 associated with the Lone Oak Independent School District are indeed
 deserving of recognition for their efforts to provide an
 exceptional education to area youth; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Lone Oak Independent School
 District on its recent honors and commend Superintendent Lance
 Campbell for his exceptional leadership of the district; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Campbell as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
