| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Bowie High School Choir is performing in the |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, These talented young men and women represent the |

| 8 | 9 | | dynamic choral department of James Bowie High School in Arlington; |

| 9 | 10 | | the program's various ensembles include two entry-level choirs, the |

| 10 | 11 | | Evocatus and the Concert Choir, which are open to all students, the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Camerata, an auditioned choir open to young women in the ninth |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | grade, and Chanson, an auditioned choir for advanced women singers |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | in the ninth to 12th grades; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The Bowie Chorale is the advanced-level choir for |

| 15 | 16 | | seasoned upperclassmen and women, while the department's pop music, |

| 16 | 17 | | a cappella ensemble, Volunteer Voices, has won best in class, best |

| 17 | 18 | | overall group, and best original song at the Texas A Cappella |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of choir director Jermaine |

| 20 | 21 | | Lobaugh and associate director Karen Batsel, the gifted and |

| 21 | 22 | | hardworking members of the Bowie High School Choir have delighted |

| 22 | 23 | | and inspired countless listeners in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and |

| 23 | 24 | | their performance in the Capitol Rotunda promises to win them new |

| 24 | 25 | | admirers in Austin; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby recognize the Bowie High School Choir on the |

| 27 | 28 | | occasion of its performance at the State Capitol on May 26, 2015, |

| 28 | 29 | | and extend to the members and the directors of the choir sincere |
