| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The Caller-Times/Citgo South Texas Distinguished |

| 9 | 10 | | Scholars program was established to reward local students who have |

| 10 | 11 | | demonstrated excellence in such areas as academics, athletics, |

| 11 | 12 | | leadership, and community service; since its inception in 1988, |

| 12 | 13 | | some 480 young men and women have been selected for this prestigious |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | honor, with the winners each receiving a stipend to assist with |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | postsecondary education expenses; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The son of Johnette Cunningham and Brandon and Renee |

| 16 | 17 | | Cunningham, Avery Cunningham aspires to a career in welding, and he |

| 17 | 18 | | has received certifications in 3D engineering, pipe fitting, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | structural welding, and core curriculum through dual credit classes |

| 19 | 20 | | at the Craft Training Center of the Coastal Bend; after graduating, |

| 20 | 21 | | he plans to attend a summer course to earn additional |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has pursued his goals |

| 23 | 24 | | with tremendous dedication, and he may take great pride in all that |
