114 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
125 AN ACT
136 relating to the jurisdiction of a county court at law in Tarrant
147 County.
158 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
169 SECTION 1. Section 25.2222(a), Government Code, is amended
1710 to read as follows:
1811 (a) A county court at law in Tarrant County has jurisdiction
1912 over all civil matters and causes, original and appellate,
2013 prescribed by law for county courts. The County Court at Law No. 1
2114 of Tarrant County also has jurisdiction over all criminal matters
2215 and causes, original and appellate, prescribed by law for county
2316 courts. The County Courts at Law Nos. 2 and 3 of Tarrant County do
2417 not have criminal jurisdiction. Notwithstanding any other
2518 provision, a county court at law in Tarrant County has jurisdiction
2619 on any appeal from a municipal court of record in Tarrant County
2720 that is not an appeal of a criminal law case or proceeding.
2821 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
