9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 322, Government Code, is amended by |
---|
11 | 11 | | adding Section 322.025 to read as follows: |

12 | 12 | | Sec. 322.025. STATE AGENCY REPORT ON SPENDING REDUCTION |
---|
13 | 13 | | MEASURES. (a) Not later than December 1 of each even-numbered year, |
---|
14 | 14 | | each state agency shall submit to the governor, lieutenant |
---|
15 | 15 | | governor, speaker of the house of representatives, and Legislative |
---|
16 | 16 | | Budget Board a detailed report identifying measures by which the |
---|
17 | 17 | | agency can reduce the agency's biennial expenditures by 1 percent, |
---|
18 | 18 | | 5 percent, and 10 percent. |
---|
19 | 19 | | (b) The Legislative Budget Board by rule may adopt standards |
---|
20 | 20 | | for the report required by this section, including rules governing |
---|
21 | 21 | | the format, content, and methods of submission of the report. |
---|
22 | 22 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
---|
23 | 23 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
---|
24 | 24 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
---|
25 | 25 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
---|
26 | 26 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
