 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to providing a translated copy of a student's
 individualized education program to parents unable to speak
 English.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Section 29.005, Education Code, is amended by
 adding Subsection (d-1) to read as follows:
 (d-1)  In compliance with Subsection (d), the district shall
 provide the child's individualized education program in audiotape
 form if requested by the parent.  Audiotaped copies shall include
 all components of the individualized education program required
 under state or federal law that are developed or revised by the
 committee.
 SECTION 2.  This Act applies beginning with the 2015-2016
 school year.
 SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
