| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize McDonald's and to join the management and staff in |

| 4 | 4 | | proclaiming May 7, 2015, as Salad Day 2015 at the State Capitol; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Salad Day 2015 is being sponsored by Texas |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | McDonald's owner-operators; on Salad Day, Texas McDonald's |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | owner-operators are serving salads to the public while providing |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | information about the positive impact the McDonald's system has |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | on the state's economy; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Texas McDonald's owner-operators represent a major |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | economic presence in their communities; a total of 1,105 McDonald's |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | restaurants operate in Texas and employ 66,792 Texans; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Texas McDonald's owner-operators contribute |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | significantly to the state by returning much of the revenues they |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | generate to local economies; in 2013, the McDonald's system in |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Texas purchased 160 million pounds of beef, 4.9 million pounds of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | cheese, 109 million pounds of flour, 6.6 million gallons of milk, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and 13 million pounds of onions; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Legislature, hereby welcome Texas McDonald's owner-operators and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | representatives to the State Capitol and extend best wishes to |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | all for an enjoyable Salad Day 2015; and, be it further |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Texas McDonald's owner-operators as an expression of esteem from |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | the Texas Senate. |
