SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 733 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize McDonald's and to join the management and staff in proclaiming May 7, 2015, as Salad Day 2015 at the State Capitol; and WHEREAS, Salad Day 2015 is being sponsored by Texas McDonald's owner-operators; on Salad Day, Texas McDonald's owner-operators are serving salads to the public while providing information about the positive impact the McDonald's system has on the state's economy; and WHEREAS, Texas McDonald's owner-operators represent a major economic presence in their communities; a total of 1,105 McDonald's restaurants operate in Texas and employ 66,792 Texans; and WHEREAS, Texas McDonald's owner-operators contribute significantly to the state by returning much of the revenues they generate to local economies; in 2013, the McDonald's system in Texas purchased 160 million pounds of beef, 4.9 million pounds of cheese, 109 million pounds of flour, 6.6 million gallons of milk, and 13 million pounds of onions; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby welcome Texas McDonald's owner-operators and representatives to the State Capitol and extend best wishes to all for an enjoyable Salad Day 2015; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Texas McDonald's owner-operators as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
