115 relating to issuance of a vendor permit for the sale of goods during
126 an authorized event held in the Texas mall area of the Capitol
137 Complex.
148 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
159 SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 2165, Government Code, is
1610 amended by adding Section 2165.260 to read as follows:
1711 Sec. 2165.260. TEXAS MALL AREA VENDOR PERMIT. (a) In this
1812 section, the "Texas mall area of the Capitol Complex" means the
1913 state-owned property within the area bounded on the north by Martin
2014 Luther King, Jr., Boulevard, on the east by Brazos Street, on the
2115 south by 15th Street, and on the west by Colorado Street.
2216 (b) Notwithstanding any other law, the State Preservation
2317 Board by rule and in consultation with the commission and other
2418 appropriate state agencies shall establish a process for a vendor
2519 to apply for and obtain from the board a permit that allows the
2620 vendor to sell goods from a rented space during an event authorized
2721 by the board and held in the Texas mall area of the Capitol Complex.
2822 (c) The State Preservation Board is not required to adopt
2923 the rules required under Subsection (b) until the Capitol Complex
3024 master plan developed under Section 2166.105 is implemented and the
3125 Texas mall proposed in the plan is established.
3226 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
