| 10 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 109, Education Code, is |
|---|
| 12 | 10 | | amended by adding Section 109.0541 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 11 | | Sec. 109.0541. AUTHORIZATION FOR CONVEYANCE OF CERTAIN |
|---|
| 14 | 12 | | TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY REAL PROPERTY TO TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY HEALTH |

| 15 | 13 | | SCIENCES CENTER. Notwithstanding Section 109.054, the board may |
|---|
| 16 | 14 | | execute a conveyance of real property that is part of the original |
|---|
| 17 | 15 | | main campus of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Lubbock County, to |
|---|
| 18 | 16 | | Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center under terms and |
|---|
| 19 | 17 | | conditions that the board determines are in the best interest of |
|---|
| 20 | 18 | | both institutions. The transaction must be in the form of an |
|---|
| 21 | 19 | | agreement and appropriate conveyancing documents between the two |
|---|
| 22 | 20 | | institutions. |
|---|
| 23 | 21 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 24 | 22 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 25 | 23 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 26 | 24 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 27 | 25 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
